  • rgbif is an R package to search and retrieve data from the Global Biodiverity Information Facilty (GBIF). rgbif wraps R code around the GBIF API to allow you to talk to GBIF from R.

  • BiblioNevada is an online application for the query of the scientific publications in relation to Biodiversity, Environment and Ecological aspects linked to Global Change in Sierra Nevada. The dataset includes all publications on Sierra Nevada, excluding those related to purely geological aspects (mineralogy or internal geodynamics), to historical aspects not related to the environment or to astronomical research.

  • Data Services provide the users with tools in order to: a) publish their datasets and make them available to the community by providing information that allows a user to locate and access the resource and its curator/creator, b) import their datasets to the Lifewatch Greece Infrastructure and to GBIF or MedOBIS, c) perform biodiversity data and information quality improvement, and d) search about datasets of interest by providing an efficient way of querying semantic networks. The schema of the data that is provided by the users is mapped to the semantic model of the LWI and the data is transformed to LWI format before it is stored to the Infrastructure. The semantic model is based on CIDOC CRM (, CRM dig, CRM geo, CRM sci and MarineTLO ( Login is required to access the service.

  • This service aims to make accessible and searchable the data collected in real-time (6 hours - update interval) by a network of micro-stations deployed in the oak groves of Sierra Nevada within the framework of the Sierra Nevada Global Change Observatory.

  • Grafana is a tool for visualizing time series data. From a series of data collected in LifeBlock (from all its nodes and the blockchain itself), a graphical overview of the status of the entire infrastructure is obtained.

  • This service aims to be a citizen science portal where users can contribute with both documents and historical images of Sierra Nevada and its surroundings.

  • The objective of this service is to enable the interaction of LifeBlock Testnet with a proprietary IPFS network through the use of smart contracts. This functionality allows the storage of the information identification hash in IPFS in LifeBlock Testnet. • IPFS is a peer-to-peer (p2p) storage network. Content is accessible through peers located anywhere in the LifeWatch ERIC network, that might relay information, store it, or do both. IPFS knows how to find files by using its content address rather than its location. It will be used mainly by the blockchain services.

  • Prometheus is an open source monitoring solution used to get data, make queries, provide visualizations and set up alerts inside Lifeblock Testnet and IPFS environment.

  • The objective of this service is to provide LifeBlock's infrastructure with a connection point to hardware and software wallets, particularly Metamask. Through this service it is possible to connect to LifeBlock to use, manage, transfer, create tokens and LifeCoins. Technical data for this service: - Name of the net: LifeBlock Testnet - NetworkId: 3170 - RPC URL: Currency Symbol: LifeCoin - Block explorer URL:
