This dataset contains a list of harpacticoid copepods present in samples taken in Gazi Bay (Kenya) and Zanzibar (Tanzania) during July-August 1996. Samples were taken by snorkeling and a PVC meiofauna core. The data were digitized by VLIZ from the original report: Geerinckx, T. (2002). The role of isolation and dispersal in explaining regional diversity patterns: a case-study with harpacticoid copepods in tropical seagrass beds. MSc Thesis. MareLac: Ghent. 35 pp.

Data were collected in the framework of a thesis study. The general aim was to give a detailed inventory of the nematode communities present in the Westerschelde area, based on biomass, diversity and physico-chemical characteristics of the sediment.
-
The general aim of this dataset was to describe and investigate the biodiversity and zonation patterns of nematodes in relation to several abiotic factors.
-
The general aim of this dataset was to investigate aspects of the practical potential of nematodes as pollution monitoring organisms. To this end, six stations with different scales of contamination were sampled for nematodes and compared.
-
A quantitative small-scale snap-shot investigation on an intertidal sandflat in Jade Bay (North Sea) was conducted.
-
In the framework of the OMEX-programme (Ocean Margin Exchange, CEC-MAST II), data were collected on the metazoan meiobenthos along the continental slope of the Goban Spur.
-
Data were collected as part of a PhD study. It aimed - amongst others - at contributing to the rare studies on nematofaunal zonation patterns by collecting samples on a Belgian macrotidal, ultra-dissipative sandy beach.
-
Density and biomass of meiofauna for 6 sandy beaches (Knokke, Mariakerke, Oostende, Heist, Bredene, Zwin) along the Belgian coast sampled between April 1985 and May 1986. The data were digitized by VLIZ from the original report: Jouk, P. (1992). Studie naar de ecologie van de vrijlevende Plathelminthes (Turbellaria) van de zandstranden van de Belgische kust. PhD Thesis. Limburgs Universitair Centrum: Diepenbeek. 2 volumes pp.

Data on the species and trophic composition of the nematode community in coral degradation zones in Kenya and Zanzibar.
