The dataset contains records of bats (Chiroptera) collected in the lower valley of River Tua. Data were collected in the scope of the Complementary Studies (2010-2011) of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Data were collected in April 2010 during field visits to 48 points located in suitable foraging habitats for bats, within a 5-km radius buffer around the lower valley of River Tua. The presence and identity of the bat species was assessed by acoustic sampling of the echo-location calls emitted in fligth. The records include taxa identified at the species or genus level, as well as groups of species corresponding to seven acoustic “species complexes”.

The dataset contains records of bats (Chiroptera) collected in the lower valley of River Tua. Data were collected in the scope of the Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) and Program of Mitigation/Compensation Measures (PMC) of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Data were collected from August 2011 to October 2017 during field visits to 57 points located in suitable foraging habitats for bats, within a 5-km radius buffer around the lower valley of River Tua. The presence and identity of the bat species were assessed by acoustic sampling of the echo-location calls emitted in fligth. The records include taxa identified at the species, genus, family or order level, as well as several potential species present in 23 acoustic “species complexes”.

The dataset contains records of bats (Chiroptera) collected in the lower valley of River Sabor (NE Portugal), in the scope of the long-term Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) of the Baixo Sabor Hydroelectric Dams (AHBS), promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Specifically, this dataset includes results of surveys made in the scope of the monitoring of the project of Compensation Habitat of Vilariça valley for Chiroptera (MC1). Data were collected between April 2013 and August 2014, during field visits to 2 selected points located along the Vilariça stream, a tributary of the Sabor river, located near its mouth. The presence and identity of bat species were assessed by acoustic sampling of the echo-location calls emitted in fligth. The records include taxa identified at the species, genus, family or order level, as well as groups of species that share common calls but cannot be identified to any taxonomic level, and that were thus assigned to acoustic “species complexes”.

The dataset contains records of bats (Chiroptera) collected in the lower valley of the River Tua and included in the Baseline (2008-2009) and Complementary (2010) Studies of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Data were collected between November 2008 and April 2010 during field visits to 27 known or presumed bat roosts used for hibernation and/or reproduction, within a 15-km radius buffer around the Tua valley. The presence of individuals was recorded by direct observation. When the identification raised doubts, or the numbers were too high to allow individual examination, the specimens were photographed for later identification. The records include taxa identified at the species or genus level. In several occasions it was not possible to separate the potential species of the genus Myotis, so they were simply included in 2 “species complexes”: “large” Myotis (2 species) and “small” Myotis (5 species). Due to the vulnerability of the roost locations, the precision of the geographic coordinates was degraded to 0.01, according to the recommendations of Chapman & Grafton (2008). The dataset with the original (undegraded) coordinates may be provided upon request by the resource contact from EDP, who will define the terms and conditions for its use.

Data were collected in the scope of the long-term Ecological Monitoring Program (PME) and the Monitoring Program of Mitigation/Compensation Measures (PMC) of the Foz Tua Hydroelectric Dam, promoted by EDP – Energias de Portugal, S.A. Data were collected between July 2011 and September 2017 during field visits to 91 known or presumed bat hibernation, reproduction and pre-dispersion (post-reproduction) roosts, within a 5-km radius buffer around the lower valley of River Tua. From 2012, two roosts located at >20 km from the river (deactivated railroad tunnels) were added to the sampling sites in the context of the PMC. The presence of individuals was recorded by direct observation, and all individuals were photographed whenever possible. The records include taxa identified at the species or genus level. In several occasions it was not possible to separate the individual species, so they were grouped in 15 “species complexes”, both mono-specific and multi-specific.

This dataset is based on the 6th National Forest Inventory published by ICNF - Instituto de Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas. The data collection for this National Forest Inventory was obtained through aerial photography and ground surveys in 2015, to supply updated statistical and basic cartographic information for the evaluation and monitoring of the abundance, state and condition of the portuguese forest resources and to enable a sustainable forest management.

This publication is based on the paper "Flora liquénica do Parque Natural da Serra de S. Mamede" published by Palmira Carvalho in 1997 on the journal Portugaliae Acta Biologica. It presents sampling event data of several taxon of lichens collected in 64 sampling stations at Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, Alentejo, Portugal. There are 1,593 occurrence records of lichens in this Natural Park. It presents two differente archives: a dataset of the events, with the description of the sampling sites; a dataset of the occurrences, with the lichen species in each site.
