Epibenthic and non-native species monitoring in the Belgian part of the North Sea using ARMS

Since 2021, annual monitoring of epibenthic communities and non-native species has been carried out in the Belgian part of the North Sea using Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures (ARMS). This monitoring effort focuses on assessing changes in benthic biodiversity and detecting early introductions of non-native species in coastal habitats. The habitat includes the sea bottom of the sand bank system and shallow coastal waters, with deployments at depths ranging from 20 to 35 meters.
