The input data for the LSP estimation are global 5-day PPI time series calculated from Sentinel-3/OLCI BRDF normalized top-of-canopy reflectances (TOC-r) in the red band (Oa08) and the near infrared (NIR) band (Oa17). The Sentinel-3/OLCI BRDF algorithm normalizes the TOC-r to the nadir viewing at 10:00AM local solar time, which is the Sentinel-3 overpass time. Besides using the Oa08 and Oa17 bands of TOC-r BRDF data in the PPI calculation the product uses the quality information layer (QUIL) which provides information on the quality of the BRDF-correction.The PPI data are fed through to TIMESAT 4.2 for smoothing, computation of phenology and productivity parameters, and derivation of QA flags.
