Zooplankton monitoring in the Belgian part of the North Sea

Since 2014, monthly sampling of zooplankton has been carried out in the Belgian part of the North Sea. The main objective of the monitoring is to observe long-term changes in zooplankton abundance, diversity and phenology. Sampling is conducted using a WP2 net (57cm diameter, 200 μm mesh size) targeting the water column, particularly in coastal waters and sandbank systems.
