Normalised Difference Vegetation Index 2014-2020 (raster 300 m), global, 10-daily - version 1
The Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is a proxy to quantify the vegetation amount. It is defined as NDVI=(NIR-Red)/(NIR+Red) where NIR corresponds to the reflectance in the near infrared band, and Red to the reflectance in the red band. It is closely related to FAPAR and is little scale dependant.

The input data are the 10-daily Top of the Canopy reflectances measured by the PROBA-VEGETATION sensor. The NDVI is calculated using the Red and Nir relfectance values while filtering out all observations indicated as not good by the Status Map. These non-optimal observations are indicated as a flag (digital value >250) together with the water derived from a Land Sea mask.
