These products are all offered at high resolution and include annual status layers. Change layers are also available, showing grassland vegetation gain and loss in 3-yearly updates. The products are designed to be used by researchers, policymakers, farmers, or anyone else who stands to benefit from monitoring the state of grassland ecosystems in Europe. Key application areas range from implementation or monitoring of various European Union (EU) policies such as the Habitats Directive or the Common Agriculture Policy, to contributing to research on how climate change is impacting grassland ecosystems. The products were initially on a 3-year update cycle, producing reference year 2015. From reference year 2017 and onwards the products are produced annually, except change layers which will remain on a 3-year update cycle.
