    <abstract>
      <para>The High Resolution Layer Imperviousness product maps the spatial distribution and dynamics of artificially sealed and built-up areas across Europe. It includes two main datasets: Imperviousness Density, which gives a percentage of sealed surfaces per pixel, and its binary sub-class Impervious Built-Up. Density and classfied change datasets as well as aggregated layers, such as Share of Built-Up, are available for both main datasets. The product has an update cycle of three years. It is available from the 2006 reference year onwards for the Imperviousness Density datasets and from the 2018 reference year onwards for the Impervious Built-Up datasets. High Resolution Layer Imperviousness product is part of the European Union’s Copernicus Land Monitoring Service.</para>
