In this dataset, each record is associated with taxonomic information (i.e. species, genus, family, order, class, phylum, kingdom) and sampling event details including date, location and geographical coordinates. The records were retrieved together with the associated geographical coordinates (longitude and latitude); where publications did not provide geographical coordinates, the occurrences were placed at the point closest to the sampling site.
