ce67bc81-0621-4b61-b994-6b35a7463b29 Plankton food web monitoring Western Great Belt 2023-01-01 This research site is part of an ongoing biomonitoring program coordinated by University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in the Western Great Belt. The study focuses on monthly sampling of the planktonic food web within and outside a kelp farm to investigate the ecological effects of low-trophic aquaculture. The monitoring examines pelagic-benthic coupling and potential structural changes in the food web. Sampling is conducted via vertical hauls using plankton nets at three sites inside the key farm and one control site. Target taxa include dinoflagellates, crustaceans, ctenophores, cnidarians, and polychaetes.
