Rocky intertidal algae and invertebrates are sampled using visual estimates of percent cover or counts in quadrants of 20x20 cm. Benthic subtidal communities are sampled visually in quadrants of 20x20 cm. The aim is to assess long-term ecological trends in coastal reef habitats of the NW Mediterranean Sea.
