Seagrass Carbon Stock Model Workflow
<div>This workflow computes estimates of blue carbon storage by using essential variables and satellite remote sensing at regional scales within European coastal systems. It is part of the <a href=" https://metadatacatalogue.lifewatch.eu/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/b1e514c1-9352-4976-a5ef-9f28f55cc9fa" target="_blank">Seagrass Carbon Stock Model Virtual Lab</a>. The workflow uses stored data from the EURO-CARBON database and Copernicus covariates. Main steps:</div><div>1. opens and combines a dataset of sediment data and environmental covariates;</div><div>2. removes unneeded variables;</div><div>3. sets any negative values for Sentinel-3 products to 0;</div><div>4. creates a unique core ID factor variable;</div><div>5. saves the dataset to use for modeling;</div><div>6. visualises the dataset;</div><div>7. checks for correlations across environmental predictors;</div><div>8. applies a random forest and generalised additive model.</div>
