The dataset is part of a Master degree thesis titled “Evaluation of transitional coastal enviroment health status: Torre Guaceto”. The dataset includes taxonomic and morphological data of phytoplankton organisms collected in Torre Guaceto (Apulia, Italy), a marine protected area, located 15 km to the North of Brindisi. Torre Guaceto is a Site of Community Importance (SIC) and Special Protected Area.

The dataset contains abundance and body size data of the benthic macroinvertebrates community of Torre Guaceto (Apulia, Italy). Data refer to 34 taxa and 11342 individuals.
