The meiofaunal abundance, biomass, community structure and nematode diversity were investigated in relation to the spatial distribution of the potential food sources in the Atacama trench and open slope (South Pacific Ocean).

Data were collected to investigate if the nematode fauna varies with bathymetry and if nematodes from the South Sandwich Trench differ from other trenches and from other deep-water areas elsewhere in Antarctica.
