This paper presents the identification of two species, namely Podon polyphemoides and Penilia avirostris by F.M.Ghazzawi, through plankton catches. It includes microphotographs and drawings of the above mentioned species.
Report on the Danish Oceanographical Expeditions 1908-1910 to the Mediterranean and adjacent seas - Introduction
This dataset comprises the location of sampling stations, sampling information (methods) and some environmental data recorded during the Danish expeditions to the Mediterranean and adjacent seas 1908-1910. The data were digitized from the report of Schmidt (1912). This table was created and used as reference for the biogeographic data, which were published in three multi-part volumes. Three of these volumes with biogeographic data have been digitized already and are available through this IPT installation (see links below). For other volumes, only metadata have been created and are available through this IPT.
In this study, performed under the LifeWatchGreece infrastructure, are presented preliminary results from the digitization of biodiversity data from various sampling expeditions carried out from 1996 to 1999. The main purposes of the project were to examine the biodiversity of mäerl habitats in European seas, assess the anthropogenic impacts and develop conservation strategies for European mäerl beds. Twelve sampling sites were selected. Six of them were subjected to anthropogenic impacts and the other six represented pristine conditions as far as possible. Overall, 4127 records of marine biota were digitized belonging to phyla of the kingdoms Bacteria, Plantae, Chromista and Animalia
Temporal evolution of zooplankton by WP2 net in the Northwestern Mediterranean Sea, Villefranche-sur-mer 2004-2010
The Observatoire of Villefranche sur Mer supports the daily sampling of zooplankton since 1966 at a time series station located at the entrancy of the Bay of Villefranche sur Mer. Samples were collected by a vertical tow from bottom to surface (75-0 m), using a WP2 net. Zooplankton abundance was counted by specialist at OOV under microscopes
This dataset contains abundance data of phytoplankton species (diatoms, dinoflagellates and coccolithophores) collected in four eutrophic gulfs of the Aegean Sea, Eastern Mediterranean Sea, during the years 2002–2003 and data on environmental parameters
This dataset contains occurrence records of infralittoral molluscs from several locations in the Mediterranean basin. These data come from available data, published papers in scientific journals as well as free available PhD thesis, dating back to 1969.
The dataset contains occurrence records of 963 living individuals belonging to two species of brachiopods in a shallow-water Posidonia meadow in Crete sampled in two seasons in 2017 from 5 to 20 m depth
